The Black-throated Canary (Serinus atrogularis), alternatively known as the Yellow-rumped Seedeater, is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family.
Distribution: It is found frequently in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa,Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.
Identification: Similar to Yellow-rumped Seedeater but generally darker with black mottling on the throat. Similar color for both sexes.
Diet: Canary Seed, eggfood&greens.
