Description:
The species is dimorphic. The the female is a yellow-green, and the male Swallow Tanagers are shining turquoise blue, with a broad bill and black on the forehead and throat.
Song:
A high, slightly blurred or buzzy and metallic “tza-link”

They breed in tree holes and therefore like cavity type nests.
