Nature has created so many beautiful things and birds are one of them. The Red-vented Bulbul is a beautiful bird which is recognized by a short crest giving a squarish form to its head. This bird is same as passerine birds of Bulbul family. One can find such birds in India, Sri Lanka, Burma and Southwestern China. Besides these countries many Pacific Islands like Hawaii, Tongs, Fiji and Samoa also have these birds.

Red-vented Bulbul has a scaly pattern on it with dark brown color. The vent is red and its rump is white in color. The breeding period of these birds is from June to September. They lay two to three eggs at a time and build nests in bushes, houses or mud banks. The nests are made from twigs or metal wires and in the shape of tiny leveled cups. In a total of 14 days, the eggs hatch. Eggs are pale pink in color and have a few spots of dark red at the wide end.

This bird is a loud garden pest and consumes orchid bulbs as well as many types of fruits. Nature wise they come under the aggressive category. This species is available in abundance, so they are not considered extinct. It is integrated in the list of the world’s 100 worst invasive alien species.  Their vocalizations are typically stereotyped and they call all through the year. However a number of discrete call types have been recognized including roosting, pleading, salutation, flight and two kinds of alarm calls.  They are small little creatures and are not visible at one glance. These birds have established themselves in parts of Dubai, New Zealand and United Arab Emirates.
