Mosaic Canary:

Mosaic is a term for a color variation in Canaries. A few of the colors Mosiac Canaries can be include Red, Red-Brown, Yellow, and Yellow-Opal.

The Atlantic canary (Serious canaria) is known worldwide simply as wild canary. It is a small passerine bird belonging to the genusSerinus in the finch family, Fringillidae. It is native to the Canary Islands, the Azores, and Madeira.

Other names:

It is also called the island canarycanary or common canary.

Description:

The mosaic feather tends to be wider than the non-intensive feather and has a larger frosted tip. This means that most of the lipochrome color that still exists in the bird is hidden, except for the specific areas that make a bird with this feather type  identifiable. As with the other two feather types, there is a large variation in the width and length of the feathers of mosaic canaries.

Song:

The song is a silvery twittering similar to the songs of the serin and citril finch.

Breeding:

Cup shaped nest. The eggs are pale blue or blue-green with violet or reddish markings concentrated at the broad end. A clutch contains 3 to 4 or occasionally 5 eggs and 2-3 broods are raised each year. The eggs are incubated for 13–14 days and the young birds leave the nest after 14–21 days, most commonly after 15–17 days

Diet for Mosaic Canary:

Good quality canary seed mix, greens and egg food.
