Lichtenstein’s Desert Finch (Carduelis obsoleta) better known as the Desert Finch resides in southern Eurasia.The bird is large, average looking, and brown in color.
Identification
Both the male and female Desert Finches have a strip of rosy-pink on each wing.They both have a hard black beak and white and black quill and flight feathers.The male is more impressive in color than the female, but this is the only difference.
Breeding
During springtime the Finch will nest, preferring trees in and around orchards.A female will lay between 4 to 6 eggs. Her eggs will be light green and sparsely speckled.
